We are so pleased that we chose Shem Roose as our wedding photographer! He and his wife (and lovely assistant) Rebecca were so wonderful to work with from the very beginning. At our outdoor engagement photo shoot, Shem thought of creative poses for us that felt very natural -- some playful, some romantic -- and incorporated a lot of the beautiful scenery that surrounded us. We were at ease in front of the camera, thanks to Shem's calm demeanor and Rebecca's enthusiasm and encouragement. On our wedding day, Shem captured each moment so beautifully. While he got every photo we asked for, we were also open to his creative ideas and suggestions, and it helped that our venue had so many great spots for photo ops! We received our final edited photos in less than two weeks after our wedding, and they came out beautifully. We were so impressed at how quickly Shem was able to turn them around for us. Even better, we own all of the photos outright and didn't have to pay for each copy of a photo.
Can't say enough about how great it was to have Shem capture our wedding. He was incredibly easy to work with from start to finish. We got everything on our shot list and then some, all without ever feeling rushed or forced. He has an eye for light and landscape that made our venue come to life.
The pictures themselves are, in a word, perfect. Shem and Rebecca captured every single special moment and then some and the pictures are absolutely stunning. They truly exceeded my expectations in every way and I could not be happier with the results.
I had an absolutely amazing experience working with Shem and Rebecca! They brought such a wonderful energy to our wedding day - from the moment they arrived, they were just a positive, fun, and calm presence, and their willingness to go with the flow and have fun immediately put us at ease. They struck a great balance between portraits and "must-have" pictures from my list and candid, in the moment shots, many of which turned out to be my favorites of the day.
If you are looking for a wedding photographer, look no further than Shem! He braved below zero weather in January for our engagement shoot, and his pictures completely captured our excitement. Shem and his wife and photography copilot Rebecca did an even better job at our wedding - everybody looked great and taking photos was a blast. If we could give these guys more than 5 stars, we would!
I truly think that of all the vendor-related decisions we made, hiring Shem and Rebecca to document our wedding was the best one. They really played an enormous role in making the day feel so special, and we will be treasuring their beautiful work for the rest of our lives.
